Dave Pidgeon founded Compass Points Media in October 2009. A veteran journalist with more than a decade of experience, Pidgeon’s work has been seen in Backpacker, Budget Travel and many other publications. “I started Compass Points Media to create a professional and informative outdoor online resource,” Pidgeon said. “I wanted something that if I was someone who wanted to start hiking and backpacking, this is the website I want and would come back to time and again.”
